The NBA All-Star Game has been a great platform for players to get national recognition. T-Mac's infamous alley-oop made him an even bigger name for years to come.?
This year's NBA All-Star class is full of talented players, young and old. There are seven players in this year's class that are first-time all-stars, six of which will take the court for the Eastern Conference.
A few of these youngsters will have an immediate impact on their first All-Star game of many.?
Kyrie Irving
Irving has taken the NBA by storm in his first two seasons. He's proven himself to be one of the best young players in the league and one of the best point guards of the future. His All-Star weekend schedule is enough proof. He'll take part in the Rising Stars game and the All-Star game this weekend.?
Kyrie Irving has nasty handles and can throw it down very well for a shorter player.
Irving is obviously talented. So far this season, he's averaged over 23 points and five assists per game with the Cavs and was named NBA's Rookie of the Year last season.?
While Irving is great on the court, the NBA All-Star game is a different beast entirely. The All-Star game is about being a great player with a little bit of flash thrown in. Irving has a TON of flash. Just check out his high school mixtape if you don't believe it.?
He's got the stupid-good handles, sick passes and impressive dunks that can make a player really shine among the All-Stars.?
Tyson Chandler
Some how Tyson Chandler has never been selected to an NBA All-Star game. Chandler is a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year and has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team twice in his 11 year career.?
Chandler isn't the best offensive player but put on a show for New Orleans with Chris Paul as his point guard.
While he's known for his talent on the defensive end, he's a great finisher on offense as well. He's one of the hardest dunkers in the league and is no stranger to finishing sick alley-oops which have been known to show up once or twice per All-Star game.
Chandler's thunderous throw-downs and bodacious blocks will give him a great opportunity to steal the show at the NBA All-Star game.?
Paul George
While Chandler is all about the receiving end of alley-oops, George is about making his own path to the rim for boomshakalaka-worthy slams.?
George is more than worthy of the All-Star selection as he averages over 17 points per game on a surprisingly tough Indiana Pacers team. He's been one of their best scorers and has made 115 three-pointers ?while shooting 38 percent from beyond the arch.?
Paul George participated in last year's NBA Dunk Contest and can shoot the three.
George's sick dunks and impressive three-point shooting make him an exceptionally dangerous player in an All-Star game where defense isn't always a factor. He'll get a ton of open shots and a lot of opportunities for dunks.?
